Why You'll Love This Recipe

In my opinion, you can never have too many vegan Caesar dressings. Each one serves a different need. Drizzle a lighter, more vinaigrette based dressing over a traditional salad while you slather a thick, creamy version like this one over ciabatta buns before stacking with your favorite burger.

You just need 5 ingredients and a blender and you’ll be pouring this dressing over your favorite salads, bowls and sandwiches in under 5 minutes. Be sure to double the yield as you’ll find a dozen different ways to add it to your dishes!

Creamy Vegan Caesar Dressing Ingredients

All you need are a few simple ingredients from your pantry to make a batch of this creamy vegan Caesar dressing.

Cashews

Use raw, unsalted cashews to make the creamy base of this dressing. If you’re not using a high-speed blender, then you’ll want to make sure to soak your nuts overnight.

Replace with soaked sunflower seeds or pepitas if you have a nut allergy.

Tahini

You don’t need much, but it ads a little bit of creamy texture to the dressing base. If you have a sesame allergy, you can omit without affecting the recipe.

Garlic

I can never get enough garlicky flavor in a Caesar dressing. Increase or decrease what the recipe calls for based on your preference. I splurge and buy the pre-peeled cloves in a bag from Trader Joe’s. It’s one area that I like to take some help from the store to speed up my prep.

Shoyu, Soy Sauce or Tamari

Instead of salt, I like to use this as a liquid seasoning. My preference is the low-sodium shoyu. If you have a soy allergy, swap coconut aminos.

Lemon Juice

Freshly squeezed lemon juice brightens up any recipe and it also gives this creamy vegan Caesar dressing a little extra tang.

Dijon Mustard

Don’t underestimate the use of dijon mustard! It adds flavor and creaminess.

Capers

I love to use capers when I need to add a “fish” flavored element to a recipe. Instead of traditional anchovies, capers are just the thing.

Absolutely! Creamy Vegan Caesar Dressing can be used as a dip for vegetables, a spread for sandwiches, or a sauce for grain bowls.
